Founded in November 2024 by Tom and Gareth, local, helpful, client care focused, quality orientated, RICS accredited Surveyors, on the principle that our clients deserve and require more than good home surveys.

Gareth and Tom, the Co-Founders, Directors and RICS Surveyors at Goodby Martyn, deliver a tailor-made and professional service with personal touches. We care before the survey, during the survey and after the survey. We're here to help and support you.
Over 20 years combined building pathology, valuation and residential property surveying experience that you can trust and rely on.
We both have BSc Building Surveying degrees, both are Associate Members of the RICS (AssocRICS), both RICS Registered Valuers and our firm is Regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Together for over 20 years we have been surveying and valuing property in Yorkshire. We only inspect, survey and value in areas we know, live or have worked in.

How much is a Home Survey from Goodby Martyn?Our fees and costs depend on the level of survey you choose, its suitability for the property you want the survey on, our time on site and to craft your report, the level and depth of information and advice, the property size, its complexity, any bespoke or extra needs, a valuation and reinstatement cost element and our unique InBrief Debrief meeting with you following the report. We have included a general and indicative guide price range of our standard fees on each of our RICS Home Survey Level 1, 2 and 3 website pages under the "Surveys and Valuations" page. How quickly can I get my Survey and Valuation Report?We focus on quality, clear and precise Home Surveys and Valuations. We carry out all our surveys and valuation in a timely, diligent and professional manner. We do not rush and we do not take short cuts. You, our client, is at the heart of everything we do and why we do what we do. We will work with you to deliver the survey and valuation in an agreed timescale and keep you informed every step of the way. We have our own unique InBrief Debrief service, which will provide you with an interim overview of the findings ahead of receiving your completed report usually on the day of the inspection or within 24 hours. Our typical and standard timescales for completed survey reports range from 3 to 10 working days following the inspection. This depends on the type of valuation or level of Home Survey needed and carried out. We will always confirm our estimated timescales and delivery of the report with you before instructions and in writing. If we cannot achieve your desired timescale, we will tell you before accepting any instructions, so you can make other arrangements if needed. You should also be aware that our timescales may vary due to unforeseen circumstances, or if we need to carry out further research and / or if the case becomes more complex or involved than originally thought. We will always keep you updated and informed and will only act on your instructions within the signed, agreed terms of engagement only.
